Dear friends of Sanatan Dharma,
Hare Krishna! Please accept the blessings of Mother Ganga and Lord Kapil Deva.
As winter approaches, we are preparing to celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights. It is also the time to commemorate the glory of Lord Krishna, who protected the cows and lifted the Govardhan hill. It is the time to express our gratitude to Mother Earth, who nourishes us with food and shelter. It is the time to share our joy and generosity with others, especially those who are less fortunate than us.
But there are many people who are living in misery and suffering in the Sundarban area, the remote mangrove forest area, and other remote places in South 24 Parganas in West Bengal, India. They are facing the cold, hunger and poverty without any hope or help. They urgently need warm clothes, blankets and food to survive the winter season.
We, at ISKCON Ganga Sagar, are dedicated to serve these underprivileged people and bring some light and love to their dark and lonely lives. We are organizing a donation drive to collect winter clothes, blankets and food for them. Our cloth distribution drive will run from Nov 2023 to Feb 24. We request you to join us in this noble cause and donate whatever you can. No donation is big or small. Every contribution counts and makes a difference.
Your donation will be used to buy and distribute winter clothes, blankets and food to the needy people in the Sundarban area and other places. You can also donate in the name of your family or loved ones when you are donating more than 15,000/-. We will send you a certificate of appreciation and a photo of the people who received your donation. You can also visit our website/ facebook page and see the impact of your donation. All donation is eligible to get tax rebate in India u/s 80G.
You can also donate food on Govardhan Puja/ Annakut festival, which is on November 14, 2023. This is a very auspicious day to offer food to Lord Krishna and his devotees. We will prepare a huge mountain of food and offer it to Lord Krishna as a symbol of Govardhan hill. We will then distribute the prasadam (sanctified food) to the poor and the sadhus (holy men) and to the community devotees in the Sundarban area at Gangasagar Island. You can donate any kind of vegetarian food, such as rice, dal, spices, fruits, vegetables, dry sweets, pickle, etc or equivalent money. You can also sponsor a cow or a calf or grazing land for cows, which are very dear to Lord Krishna.
By donating, you are not only helping others, but also yourself. You are creating good karma and earning the blessings of Lord Krishna. You are making this Diwali a truly special and meaningful one.
Please donate today and share your happiness with others. You can donate online through our website or contact us for more details. Thank you for your generosity and support. May Lord Krishna bless you and your family with peace, prosperity and happiness.
Happy Dhanterus! Happy Diwali! Happy Kalipuja! Happy Goverdhan Puja! Happy Kartick month!
Hope to see you at ISKCON Gangasagar centre very soon.
Hare Krishna!
Yours in the service of Humanity,
Sri Sundar Govind Das
