As we prepare for one of the most sacred pilgrimages of the year, we invite you to become part of a noble mission of service and devotion. Makar Sankranti marks the Sun-God’s northward journey (Uttarayana), symbolizing light, renewal, and divine blessings.
On this sacred day:
Lord Vishnu destroyed demonic forces, restoring dharma.
Maharaj Bhagirath performed tarpan for his ancestors, granting them liberation through Mother Ganga.
Bhishmadeva chose this day to leave his body, displaying spiritual mastery.
Across India, festivals like Pongal, Lohri, Poush Parbon, and Uttarayan celebrate the joy of this occasion.
The Matsya Purana declares:
"On Makar Sankranti, feeding devotees and the poor brings immense blessings from the Sun-God."
From 10th to 17th January 2026, over three million pilgrims, sadhus, and yogis will gather at the sacred confluence of Mother Ganga and the Bay of Bengal. With unwavering faith, they trust that Lord Sri Hari will inspire kind-hearted devotees like you to assist them in their sacred journey.
As Lord Krishna proclaims in the Bhagavad Gita (17.20):
"Charity given at the right time, in the right place, and to worthy recipients is in the mode of goodness."
By supporting this initiative, you will: ✔ Preserve Sanatana Dharma as a Dharma Rakshak. ✔ Serve pilgrims, sadhus, and great souls. ✔ Engage in the Vedic tradition of Anna-Daan Seva (prasadam distribution). ✔ Receive the blessings of Mother Ganga and Lord Surya.
At ISKCON Gangasagar Mandir, we plan to:
Organize night shelters, maha harinam sankirtan, and Viswa Shanti Yajnas.
Distribute 120,000 plates of free prasadam (rice/roti, dal, sabji, pickle, and halwa) at ₹30 per plate.
Conduct Bhagavad Gita Dan, Vastra Dan (clothing donation), and provide medical services.

To achieve our goal of ₹36,00,000, we seek 1,200 donors contributing ₹3,000 each (the cost of 100 plates) or more.
Share 50 meals (₹1,500): Tarpan performed on your behalf at Gangasagar.

Share 200 meals (₹6,000): A MAYAPUR Desk Calendar 2027 as a token of gratitude.
